Magic happens in any story. You can create your world and fulfill fantasies that you have been dreaming about since you were young. There are endless possibilities to stretch when telling stories. It is limitless. No matter what your age, you are never too old for stories.
Animation allows you to let your story come into life and have the chance to share it with the world. If you are a storyteller, let everyone witness the magic of your words.
What is Animation?
The animation is a series of pictures manipulated to appear as moving images, and it is a method of capturing successive drawings or puppets to display as moving images. Traditional animation is a hand-drawn or painted images photographed to produce on film.
Today, in our modern world, most animation is made with computer-generated imagery (CGI). It can be three-dimensional (3D) animation or two-dimensional (2D) computer animation, used for stylistic reasons.
Frame rate or several consecutive images produced each second is vital to create a smooth motion of images usually shot “on twos.” One picture shows for two frames resulting in 12 drawings per second. Twenty-four frames per second are used to layout smooth motion animation because the 12-second frame rate may appear choppy.
Traditional Animation
Traditional animation, known as cel animation, is one of the oldest forms of animation film. It is a method of photographing images drawn or painted on transparent celluloid sheets to create an illusion of movement through sequential images to show on film.
Early cartoons such as Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast, and The Lion King, are considered traditional animation.
2D Animation
2D animation can fall under traditional animation, but not all the time. The vector-based animation film is a 2D animation but not regarded as traditional animation.
Vectors control the vector-based animation instead of pixels. Vectors produce a clean and smooth animated film. It allows us to resize images without affecting their quality. It consists of paths with various start and endpoints, unlike pixel images that lose their quality when enlarged or downsized.
Anastasia (1997), Spirited Away (2003), Thumbelina (1994), and Digimon: The Movie (2000) are examples of 2D Animation films.
3D Animation
3D animation film, also known as computer animation, creates three-dimensional images to bring the characters into motion. It uses 3D software to manipulate images to make it look like real moving objects.
The difference between 2D and 3D animation is that 2D animation uses hand-drawn images, while 3D animation is computer-generated.
Disney’s Frozen, Toy Story, Coco, and Cars are examples of 3D animation films.
Importance of Animation Film
The animation is important because it allows us to enter a different kind of world. It let us experience the magic of stories and let us uniquely feel emotions. Animation helps us to connect with people through storytelling or even in writing stories. It gives us and refreshes our perspective that approaches not only children but also adults.
Animation connects us to the world; it bridges ideas and creativity, bringing us limitless possibilities.
